Drivers

Hours are 6:00a.m.-6:00p.m. Monday through Friday. We have an opening in Wood county and Smith County. GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:Responsible for operating and maintaining a transportation vehicle used in the Rural Public Transportation program in compliance with program, state, and federal guidelines. Responsible for providing transportation services to all individuals, including persons with disabilities, in a safe and timely manner. Responsible for complying with all HCTD policies and procedures and all funding source regulations and requirements.Physical Requirements: Must be physically capable of assisting passengers who use assistive walking devices, wheelchairs or other special equipment. Must be able to administer CPR and first aid.EXAMPLES OF WORK:Drive the assigned vehicle utilized in the transportation program.Follow a daily vehicle checklist. Maintain safety equipment on the vehicle.Provide assistance to passengers, including assisting unescorted infirm passengers from domicile to vehicle seat and return.Keep program system vehicle in a safe, secure and clean condition.Keep all programmatic reporting instruments and client records secure and adhere to requirements of Privacy Act.Follow generally accepted fiscal accountability principles when receiving, recording, handling, and depositing program funds (fares/contributions).During trips, check in and out with the Dispatch Staff via mobile radio. Also, check in prior to leaving the vehicle for more than 15 minutes and upon return to the vehicle.Participate in all driver-training activities.Perform other duties that may be assigned.Deliver van for maintenance or repair.Wash or wax van and clean interior or have these services commercially performed.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesGood verbal and radio communication skills;Good people skills;Above average ability to think through situations and deal with problems constructively;Ability to deal with stress;Must be self-motivated.ETCOG RTD policies and procedures;Funding source regulations and requirements;Familiarity with service area, routes, schedules, etc.;Ability to communicate effectively;Ability to deal with disabled and irate passengers;Ability to work productively with supervisors, co-workers, professionals, and people in general;Ability to perform tasks effectively and efficiently;Ability to follow instructions without constant supervision;Ability to present a professional appearance and conduct.Ability to lift 40 pounds.Experience and EducationHigh school diploma or GED or acceptable equivalent;Certificates and License;Appropriate Texas driver's license.   Remedy Intelligent Staffing is an Equal Opportunity Employer
