The Engineering Manager, Detection position located in our Colorado Springs, CO office leads the Detection Engineering team and is responsible for the Colorado Springs site.

The position is responsible for managing, coordinating, and supporting detection design engineering operations by performing the following duties:

- Provides engineering leadership based on company strategy.
- Defines and tracks value engineering projects.
- Tracks new product development projects as requested by senior management.
- Communicates project status to upper management and other departments.
- Writes and maintains engineering procedures.
- Interfaces with Quality and Manufacturing to identify and define product improvement opportunities. Assigns these projects to appropriate sustaining engineer.
- Maintains and supports supplier/vendor management relationships.
- Reviews and approves budget expenditures.
- Organizes office activities to maintain morale, build team spirit and foster positive employee interaction.
- Responsible for managing and supporting the Product Engineering Department.
- Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, accuracy, and conformance to policies and procedures.
- Directs the interviewing, hiring, and training of employees.
- Responsible for supervising approximately 15 employees including planning, assigning, and directing work.


Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.

7-10 years of engineering experience, project management, and 5 years in a management role.

Position requires up to 20% travel, some international.
