Executive Director Compliance, Internal Audit and Control

The Fire Department of New York City (FDNY) seeks an experienced Compliance Director to oversee all FDNY internal audit and compliance efforts. The Executive Director will recommend and facilitate change in Department policy; oversee the development and implementation of audit plans; set goals, schedules, procedures, and methodology for all audits, apply internal control concepts to assess control practices. The Director has responsibility to manage consultant services augmenting the internal audit staff and to liaise with outside entities, including Federal and State entities regarding the Department’s corruption prevention efforts and/or external audit programs.

Preferred Experience and Skills:
Computer literate with excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of generally accepted government auditing standards including the administrative and auditing requirements that apply to federal grant programs. CPA, CMA, or CIA certification is desirable. Prior experience in federal grant auditing along with an in-depth knowledge of public sector audits, experience with performance audits, program evaluation familiarity with third party billings, and revenue/collection audits is highly preferred.
