Facilities Maintenance Technician

We are currently seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician for our location in Ogden, UT. Job Description: Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of facilities maintenance support tasks which may include but are not limited to furniture moving and repair; movement of materials and supplies; maintaining office equipment and fixtures; simple electrical projects; painting, carpentry, or cleaning; light construction or exterior clean-up; plumbing, heating, ventilating, or air conditioning repairs; waste paper recycling, inter-office transportation; and/or stocking of coffee areas. Reviews service requests for repairs and maintenance, determines nature of problem and recommends appropriate solution. Conducts periodic preventive maintenance inspections, troubleshoots, and performs maintenance tasks as required. Utilizes a wide variety of hand and portable power tools. Maintains in good operating condition all equipment necessary to perform the tasks. May coordinate the work of outside contractors. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained. Decisions or failure to achieve results may cause delays in schedules. Interacts daily with supervisor, peer groups, and customers. Interaction normally involves exchange or presentation of factual information. Normally receives no instruction on routine work, little instruction on new assignments. Required education/experience: High school education or equivalent and 5+ years of related experience is required. Required skills: Facilities maintenance experience is required. Judgement is needed in resolving unexpected issues and making semi-routine recommendations. The ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required. Having some knowledge and experience, able to handle unusual job events. Choice of action requires more than common sense in that some training and experience is needed before knowing what to do under special circumstances. Position requires that candidate obtain a security clearance in order to access classified information. Inability to obtain a security clearance will result in candidate being ineligible for this position.
