The New York City Mayor’s Office of the Criminal Justice Coordinator (CJC) advises the Mayor on criminal justice policy and legislation and is responsible for coordinating the activities of the City criminal justice agencies.  Among other things, the CJC manages state and federal grants to several New York City criminal justice agencies.

Position Description: CJC seeks a Grant Coordinator to oversee the management of a federal and state criminal justice and homeland security grants portfolio of over $500 million.  Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

•  Acting as a liaison to Federal and State agencies and ensure agency compliance with financial and programmatic grant requirements.
•  Being responsible for monitoring progress of grant programs.
•  Identifying funding opportunities to support City criminal justice initiatives and programs and developing funding proposals in consultation with policy staff and non-profit organizations.
•  Oversight of staff who process and track grant revenue, expenditures, reimbursement requests, extension requests, and budget modifications, as well as preparation of quarterly fiscal status reports for criminal justice and homeland security grants.
•  Acting as a liaison with auditors from City, State, and Federal agencies to ensure that all information is provided to auditors in a timely manner.
•  Working with the City’s Office of Management and Budget, as well as agency fiscal managers to ensure that grant spending is on schedule.

Qualifications:
•  Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Accounting, Business or related field, and 2 to 4 years experience in grant administration or related field; or
•  Master’s Degree in Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, Business or other related field.  
•  Proficiency in Excel is a must.
•  Experience in grant administration is preferred.  
•  New York City residency within 90 days of appointment is required.
