HIPAA Operations Analyst
Altarum Institute is pleased to announce an opening for a junior to mid-level HIPAA operations analyst within our Revenue Cycle Management Practice. We are currently looking for a self-motivated candidate with proven ability to succeed in high-paced, dynamic environments under limited levels of supervision. The position is full time and based in our Alexandria, Virginia office with local travel to our client site and other occasional travel as needed. • Provide HIPAA (privacy, security, transaction standards) operational assessments to clients. • Interpret and implement state and federal regulatory requirements in a healthcare setting. • Serve as an operational resource for HIPAA transaction standards. o Provide training on the standards • Serve as member of audit team for HIPAA audits as needed. • Other duties, as assigned. • Bachelor’s degree in policy (or related course work in the program). • HIPAA certification a plus. • 3-5 years of HIPAA privacy, security, and/or transaction standards operational experience in a healthcare setting. • Good interpersonal and writing skills.. • Ability to produce professional work products (white papers, memoranda, draft policies, PowerPoint presentations, research analyses, etc.) independently. • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point. • Proven ability to give professional presentations (e.g., positive evaluations from attendees). • Proven ability to work directly with clients with minimal oversight. • Ability to support multiple initiatives simultaneously. Other Considerations: • Revenue cycle experience preferred, but not required. • Working knowledge of federal healthcare systems (Military Health System, Veterans Health Administration and Indian Health Service) preferred, but not required.
