Housing Advisor
 
Summary of duties: This is administrative work with responsibilities for new admission and recertification processing for families participating in the Section 8 Housing Assistance Program as required by Federal regulations. The work is very detailed and involves a large amount of paperwork. The advisor is responsible for completely managing a minimum caseload of up to 300 participants (families), from scheduling appointments to authorizing housing assistance payments; or for managing particular components of the program that may include intake, waiting list and lease-up, social services, landlord outreach, etc.
Minimum Qualifications: Associates of Arts degree or equivalent, 2 years clerical experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education; 6 months experience related to customer service/public contact.

Clerk Typist 2

Summary of duties: Clerical support position involving responsibilities for such functions as filing, word processing, placing and receiving telephone calls, answering or referring questions and clientele, recording messages, etc. Duties include document preparation, mail processing, copying, inventory of Authority forms, assisting with switchboard and receptionist duties, assisting walk-in clients, record keeping, report generation, and other general clerical duties. Compiling data and operates computer in performance of routine clerical duties to maintain business records and reports. Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a GED certificate, and a minimum of two years experience in general clerical work or an equivalent combination of clerical training and experience.
