Duties & Responsibilities


 


This is Senior Information Assurance (IA) Consultant/Analyst position engaged in the full range of Federal Government IA activities to include Security Engineering, Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E), Certification and Accreditation (C&A), Compliance Validation and Inspection, Post Accreditation, Security Assessments, and expert analysis of enterprise security services and support for networked information technology systems.


 


Job Description


 


Specific responsibilities include identifying, developing, evaluating, reviewing, and documenting IA security requirements to include Contingency Plans, Risk Analysis, System Security Plans, Security Test and Evaluation Plans/Reports, and Security Requirements Traceability Matrices (SRTM).  In addition, the candidate will conduct and evaluate technical and programmatic assessments, engineering and integration initiatives, on-site Risk Assessments, Vulnerability Assessments, and provide technical support to assess the client’s organizational security policies, standards, and guidelines.


 


Essential Functions


 


Strong knowledge of industry security standards and best practices as well as possess experience with securing Federal Government networks.  Experience with Federal Government and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) policy and plans development is highly desired. 


 


Job Qualifications


 


US Citizenship required.  Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field) is desired; a Graduate Degree in IA or IT is desired.  CISSP or GIAC certifications are preferred, but not required.  Ability to “think outside the box” is essential.  Strong working knowledge and experience with FISMA, OMB Circular A-130, Appendix III, and Federal Government C&A process/methodology.  Knowledge of the NISCAP is desirable.  10+ years experience with extensive knowledge in security regulations, and demonstrated hands-on security risk assessment experience.  Exposure to vulnerability assessment methodology and information system security principles and architectures is desired.  Seasoned security analyst having developed numerous security policy, plans, security analysis reports, and manuals on security procedures is desired.  Knowledge of wireless security is helpful, but not required.
