SAIC: From Science to Solutions™ The Learning Technologies Division of SAIC currently has and opening for a Senior Instructional Designer, located in Southbridge, Massachusetts. JOB DESCRIPTION: Candidate will work with subject matter experts and multimedia developers to analyze and design technical training courseware. Using the standard ISD (Instructional Systems Design) process, he/she will create training and performance support materials for CD, web-based, and LMS (Learning Management System) delivery. He/she will be responsible for conducting requirements analysis, creating storyboards, developing objectives and activities, and applying ISD strategies to the design of multimedia based training courses. Some travel may be required. REQUIRED EDUCATION: BA (4 years additional experience in lieu of degree)in Education, Instructional Design, or related field strongly preferred; or equivalent training. REQUIRED SKILLS: Candidate must have a minimum of 4 years as an Instructional Designer or courseware developer. Demonstrated ability to use the ISD process to develop instructor led or multimedia based courseware in a deadline-driven setting. Demonstrated skill in the application of basic grammar, punctuation, and sentence and paragraph structure. Ability to conduct a front-end analysis, writes objectives, and uses various instructional strategies in training design. Expert user of personal computers and Microsoft Office suite Demonstrated ability to work with subject matter experts (SMEs) and to work in a team environment. Works on problems of diverse scope. Leads and provides guidance to other personnel in a team. Contributes to the development of the organization's goals and objectives. Frequently interacts with outside customers and functional peer groups. DESIRED SKILLS: Experience with US Army courseware development and TRADOC requirements. Experience with Army distance learning and LMS.
