Job Developer/ Community Outreach Specialist

ATHENA Consulting is recruiting for (1) Full-time Job Developer for Montgomery County's Welfare to Work Program.  This program works with adults who are receiving benefits from Montgomery County Social Services, but are not working. They focus on providing wrap around services such as GED, computer, and life skills workshops.

Location: Gaithersburg, MD

The Job Developer’s main function is to identify training & jobs placement opportunities specialize for each individuals.  This role requires the job developer to establish collaborations and partnerships with the business community for placement by maintain communication, and obtaining information on a regular basis regarding job openings and hiring trends.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; one year of experience in job development, job placement, employment counseling, or job seeking skill training and motivation; experience in marketing employers and working with the business community; excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to perform comfortably in fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment; ability to successfully execute many complex task simultaneously; and ability to work as a team member, as well as independently. 

 

Job Responsibilities-

·  Identify training & jobs placement opportunities specialized for each individuals

·  Establish collaborations and partnerships with the business community for permanent placement

·  Identified employers’ needs through business outreach programs, which allows them to assist clients in gaining permanent employment

·  Provide selective life skills training, workforce development training and job placement based on the job developer assessment of client readiness.

·  Develop strong relationships with employers that were driven by their workforce needs.

·  Meeting with employers before and after they hire our clients in order to develop an ongoing relationship so that questions may be answered & addressed throughout this process. 

·  Working with employers to find out what their employment needs are, and find the best suited individual(s) to fill the position

 

Salary $16-18.00 per hour + Benefits
