GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Must hold a current Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) certificate from an accredited national, state, or military trained equivalent school. Hold current Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification. Worked as an LVN in the applied for specialty clinic area for 12 months within the past 36 months. Preferably in the areas of:  Urgent Care, Worker's Comp, ER, Family Practice, OBG and Cardio.

 

GENERAL DUTIES:

* Obtains health history and/or immunication status by interviewing patient and/or relative.

* Determines suspicion of presence of disease by performing screening tests.

* Records patient statistics by measuring and recording height/length and weight, blood pressure, and pulse.

* Immunizes patients by preparing, administering, and recording immunizations.

* Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.

* Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.

* Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.

* Avoids legal challenges by keeping patient information confidential.

* Serves and protects the clinic by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and jcaho standards.

* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; participating in professional organizations; maintaining licensure.

* Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
