Marine Transportation Specialist/Task Team Lead

Advanced Technology Systems, Inc. located in Old Town, Alexandria, VA is searching for a Marine Transportation Specialist.  The right candidate will review contingency plans to ensure compliance with federal regulations, preparing feedback to plan submitters, and providing technical assistance and advice to clients.  Other duties include researching, analyzing, and writing reports and position papers.

 

Minimum Qualifications: BS/BA and 2 years relevant work experience, strong attention to detail, flexibility to meet challenging deadlines, and ability to work on a team.  Must be a current licensed mariner or have held a mariner’s license in the past, and have maritime industry experience. Also helpful to have specific knowledge of the maritime industry in the following areas: operations, regulatory compliance, technical/operational support, vessel and/or facility plan review/inspection program. Helpful to have exposure to or worked with Quality Management Systems, such as implementing or abiding by ISO Q9001-2000, or equivalent. Must be organized, have the ability to multitask and the ability to follow detailed instructions and produce accurate results.  Must have working knowledge of MS Office Suite. 

 

Desired Qualifications:  Working knowledge of transportation, oil, or hazardous substance regulations.  Experience in petroleum industry a definite plus.
