The Logistics and Engineering Solutions Business Unit (LESBU) of SAIC has an opening for Senior Mechanical Engineers in Tobyhanna, PA.Job Description: Performs duties as the on-site engineer task lead or as a senior engineer. Works with Government engineers and staff to perform tests on Department of Transportation and Department of Defense containers that have been in service. This task provides packaging and engineering test services to the Package, Storage and Containerization Center (PSCC) of the Logistics Support Activity and their customers. Will perform testing and engineering services while maintaining a working knowledge of applicable regulations, specifications and standards, to include those from national and international organizations. Will maintain Depot Safety Office tests and conduct periodic reviews to ensure compliance with standards and regulations and adjust testing procedures accordingly. Analyzes test data to determine scope of testing support, recommends testing procedures, and necessary equipment, supplies and Material Handing Equipment, and develops milestones. Performs testing and records test data. Gathers test results and prepares and distributes test results. Performs program related analysis and provides recommendations. Attends and briefs at various meetings and workshops outlining available engineering support. Ensures adherence to quality and regulatory requirements including ISO 9000, and the testing and evaluation of United Nations specification packaging for hazardous materials. Required Education/Skills: Five or more years of management experience in the analysis, planning, design, development, installation and support of integrated systems. Experienced in program, resources management, engineering support and development or testing of systems and equipment. Demonstrated experience in planning, monitoring and tracking government contract activities. Advanced degree, a Bachelor’s degree with at least seven years relevant experience, Associate degree with 10 years relevant experience or high school degree with 20 years relevant experience in an engineering or a related field.
