Mission Assurance Engineer Sr.

Qualifications BS degree in engineering or a related field with a minimum of 7 years experience is required, with at least 2 years in assignments comparable to those described herein.  US citizenship and a current Secret clearance are required. Position located in Wallops Island,VA. Responsibilities Alion is seeking a senior level Mission Assurance Engineer to support its growing spacecraft development programs with the DOD.  Successful candidate must possess a secret security clearance, and will work independently to perform a wide range of reliability, system safety, and quality engineering tasks.  Responsibilities may include: development of program mission assurance plans based on customer requirements for reliability, safety and quality assurance; review of space hardware and ground support equipment designs and detailed design drawings for inspectability and compliance with specified mission assurance requirements; coordination or performance of reliability analyses including predications and failure mode and effects analyses; review and approval of selected parts, materials and processes, and coordination of parts list for customer approval; preparation and participation in design, manufacturing and test readiness reviews; management of the project nonconformance reporting system, and recommendations for corrective action; oversight of Alion suppliers providing flight or support hardware and software, including site surveys and source inspection when required.  Familiarity with and experience in implementing DOD standards for quality assurance and parts, materials and processes is required.  The candidate will frequently interface with project and customer personnel at all levels, and must have the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written documentation. Position requires a thorough knowledge and demonstrated competence in product assurance concepts.
