NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR

Ref # AAP08-20 Location:  Chantilly, VA

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1. Design, develop, implement, and administer multiple Windows Server 2003 domains ensuring NRO and DCID6/3 standards are kept.  Implement all aspects of network hardware including servers, routers, and firewall.

2. Work with WSUS patching for IAVA standards, and POP3 e-mail inside a closed network.  Ensure solutions are implemented as viable for IAVA patch management and alternate e-mail on the CWAN, SIPRNET (SCWAN), and JWICS (STWAN) networks. 

3. Administration of networks including but not limited to user management, data backup/recovery, file/folder permissions, domain policy management, system monitoring, network connectivity, software installation, licensing, and user assistance.

4. Install, configure, and maintain Windows server and client operating systems.  Ensure availability and functionality of systems for reliability to customers.

5. Consult with various levels and branches of military and civilian government workers and contractors to refine functional requirements.

6. Provide technical support to customers on various software/hardware issues

7. Configure IIS for websites.

8. Build simple databases and spreadsheets using MS Excel and Access.

9. Develop and write SOPs, Admin and User Guides and Disaster Recovery Plans for various security programs.

10. Implement various tools for ease of administration and to ensure network security.

11. Research and test software solutions to meet customer needs.  Create procedures and guidelines for usage to further aide with customer solutions.

12. Maintain inventory for the site on all IT purchases including hardware and software.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

· MCSE Certification highly desired/if no MCSE then experience in XP Operating Systems

· Requires experience in network administration, MS Operating systems. 

· Top Secret (SCI) Clearance required.

· Bachelor’s degree desired.

SKILLS and ABILITIES: 

· Must have experience working with SharePoint

· Basic working knowledge of network communications and protocols.

· Excellent communication skills and the ability to relate to all levels of staff required.
