Payroll Technicians Summary
Our client is a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company with offices in 48 countries. They are seeking to fill Payroll Technician positions in their Reston, Virginia office.
These roles are contract positions starting ASAP, and are expected to last through June 30, 2008 with a good chance of extension.
Candidates are required to be U.S. citizens and must pass a security clearance.
Government experience in payroll is mandatory.
This work includes: leave errors and adjustments; leave audits; debt management; lump sums; VLTP and manual payments.
Payroll Technicians Duties and ResponsibilitiesEnter activities against FootPrints (Online Tracking System) case as required.
Analyze pre-conversion and post-conversion to National Finance Center (effective dated personnel actions, benefits changes, retirement/Thrift Savings Plan changes, and deduction/allotment changes). Identify items requiring data corrections to NFC EmpowHR, EPIC, and EPIC HCUP systems (“one-time” pay adjustments; and “recurring” pay adjustments). Perform data entry to EmpowHR, EPIC, TINQ, SPPS and WebTA as necessary. Review Official Personnel Folders (OPFs) and FAA payroll Employee Master Record (EMR) records to perform research related to human resources and payroll issues. Determine root cause of HR/payroll issues. Identify pay adjustments and lump sum payments and separation debts to be entered to the Special Payroll Processing system (SPPS) and EmpowHR.
Complete AD-343 documents and SPPS-web data entry based on research and Job Aid guidelines.
Create PPO OTS system entries for all cases acted upon, to communicate status and resolutions to field HR staff. Process leave adjustments for VLTP participant donors and recipients. Perform casework to complete open payroll action requests and inquiries, and AD 343/SPPS requests related to payroll inventories. Process and prepare documents to include personnel actions, benefits forms and pay/leave adjustment requests. Perform data entry of personnel actions and pay documents in EmpowHR, EPIC, EPIC HCUP, and SPPS-web. Perform data-entry of leave adjustments in webTA and TINQ.
Essential Payroll Technicians Skills & Characteristics Prior experience processing personnel actions, payroll, payroll adjustments, time and/or leave for a large government of commercial enterprise (i.e., more than 500 employees) Ability to pass the SF85-P background investigation to be conducted by the federal government Federal HR and Federal payroll processing – preferred Prefer some level of payroll (commercial or government) or human resources processing experience Must be a U.S. citizen
