PRINCIPAL TRANSPORTATION ANALYSTTRANSIT DIVISION  OCTAThe Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) is the county’s primary transportation agency.  OCTA creates, funds and delivers efficient transportation for Orange County.  We keep Orange County moving with extensive bus and paratransit service, Metrolink commuter rail service, the 91 Express Lanes Toll Road, motorist services and freeway, street and road improvement projects.  For all of the exceptional services that we provide, OCTA received the Outstanding Transportation System Achievement Award from the American Public Transportation Association.   This PositionDevelops the service deployment plan and monitors the performance of the fixed route transportation system in Orange County. Develops and proposes solutions in response to changes in service demand and resource availability, in accordance with Board policy. Maintains and applies performance measures and standards for the fixed route system. Coordinates service development plans and service application efforts in cooperation with local, regional, state, federal agencies and other organizations. Directs professional planning staff and facilitates the training and professional development and monitors and evaluates the job performance of assigned staff. Prepares and presents Board reports. Represents the agency, makes presentations, and responds to inquiries at meetings of other public and professional groups. The Ideal CandidateKnowledge of transportation planning and scheduling practices, research/statistical methods, and project management techniques. Knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office programs, specialized computer programs applying GIS based data gathering and analysis, and HASTUS scheduling module applications. Ability to coordinate and manage multiple activities concurrently and develop and apply department and agency goals/objectives. Ability to analyze and interpret complex data, formulate recommendations, coordinate work and manage the projects of consultants. Ability to make presentations to internal/external committees and the Board of Directors. Qualifications Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in planning, engineering, public administration, management, social sciences, or related field with approximately seven to ten years of progressively responsible professional experience. Lead/supervisory experience is essential. Compensation and Benefits  The Authority has a comprehensive salary and benefits plan designed to recognize and reward outstanding performance.  The specific features of the program include:  Competitive Salary Range:$66, 310 - $101,608/Per Year   Retirement:The Authority pays 100% of the employee contribution into the Orange County Employees Retirement System (OCERS).  Employees may retire at age fifty and after completing ten (10) years of service.
