DescriptionProject Assistant for U.S. Navy and other clients responsible for support services that facilitate planning, programming, coordinating and budgeting for advanced product development and production within naval engineering related programs. This effort will include working with multiple stakeholders assisting in supporting project teams in defining project requirements, the supporting of project teams management of individual projects, document review, and preparation of draft briefing materials, reports and correspondence. Some travel may be required.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.• Assist with project research, planning, execution and support.• Assist in establishing key cost, schedule, and performance parameters; documenting key risk areas in the program baselines; developing business strategies, risk management plans, product transition plans and overall program cost strategies. • Ensure the quality, timeliness and accuracy of all products and services for the project(s) (review reports, documents and other information delivered to the customer)• Assist in prioritizing activities and provide feedback on accomplishment of project objectives• Assist in coordinating and facilitating meetings, conferences, and symposia for clients.• Assist with project status and reporting procedures and ensure delivery in accordance with the contract requirementsRequired SkillsMS Suite knowledge required and computer proficiency with Internet. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and be able to serve as a prime point of contact for clients. Must have the ability to obtain appropriate U.S. government security clearance.AA/AS plus at least 1 year directly related experience. Experience in a customer service role a plus. Personal computer literacy required particularly Microsoft Office Applications. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues in a small team environment. Ability to formulate written reports, business correspondence, and presentations on on-going projects. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, journals, financial reports, and governmental regulations. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries. Ability to work with spread sheet level mathematical concepts including probability and statistical inference, and to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. List the licenses, certificates, or registrations that are required to perform the essential duties of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to site and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
