Products manufactured by this group include concealable and tactical body armor, hard armor, duty gear, less-lethal munitions, anti-riot products, police batons, emergency lighting products, forensic products, firearms accessories, weapon maintenance products, foldable ladders, backpacks and specialty gloves. In this position you will prepare and review sales and use tax returns, reconcile accounts, implement process improvements, and research various sales and use tax issues. Responsibility: •Ensure compliance with tax reporting requirements and laws •Timely preparation and review of sales & use tax returns as required by state and local taxing jurisdictions •Respond to correspondence and inquiries from taxing jurisdictions •Analyze and reconcile account balances •Maintain tax records •Prepare check requests and documentation •Assist in minimizing taxes and related costs while ensuring compliance with tax reporting requirements and laws •Perform research as necessary and respond to internal and external queries related to sales and use taxes Required Experience: 5-7 years working in a progressive organization; 2-3 of which were directly involved in Tax and Compliance Required Education: CPA, MBA and/or CMA is a plus; Bachelors degree in accounting mandatory To perform this job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position: •Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills focusing on a deadline driven and team oriented environment with the ability to interact with Sr. management •Must be able to multi-task •Must have strong analytical skills with the insight to provide innovative solutions •Proficient Excel capabilities, SQL based report writer skills preferred •Accuracy and attention to detail People are the greatest asset in any Company ...
