As an employer, the State of Oregon provides a package of employee benefits designed to attract and keep highly skilled, motivated people.  As part of each employee's total compensation, the State makes monthly contributions toward medical, health, dental, vision and basic life insurance premiums and a retirement plan.  Some of the other benefits include vacation, sick leave, holidays, and personal leave.

Eugene/Springfield Life Style:

How do you describe a place where Bach and boot-scootin’ live in harmony, where tie-dye and tuxedo’s are equally trendy, where small town charm meets big-city panache—we call it Oregon’s second largest metro area.  At its core, Eugene-Springfield creates a dynamic mix of arts and culture, shopping and dining, and sports and entertainment.  Cheer on the Fighting Ducks at a PAC-10 game or head to the countryside just minutes away.  Quaint, rural communities are home to historic covered bridges, award-winning wineries, and abundant recreational venues.

Eugene Oregon

The hub of Oregon’s second largest metropolitan area, Eugene is a dynamic city known for its mix of arts and culture, scenic attractions, and passion for sports and recreation.  “Track Town USA,” home of the University of Oregon, and one of “America’s Most Livable Communities,” are among its most noted titles.  Also known as one of America’s most  “Bike-Friendly” communities, miles of paths wind throughout city streets, gardens, parks and along the banks of the Willamette River.  The Hult Center for the Performing Arts provides one of many venues showcasing the talents of highly acclaimed artists and resident companies.

Springfield Oregon

A community proud of its past with a progressive eye on its future, Springfield is home to everything from vintage homes to high-tech industry.  The Washburne Historic District, Springfield Museum, downtown antique shops, and Dorris Ranch — America’s oldest operating commercial filbert orchard — provide a link to Springfield’s rich history.  An extensive modern shopping mall, indoor wave pool, miles of bike paths, city parks and numerous community centers are favorites among locals and visitors.  The city is also known for its wide array of elaborate murals displayed throughout downtown.  Major companies include Carnival Cruise Lines call center, Shorewood Packaging, and numerous timber-related industries.

Just east of Eugene/Springfield, you'll find spectacular mountains with a myriad of lakes, rivers and streams, allowing for an abundance of recreational opportunities.  You're never far from a place to enjoy skiing, camping, fishing, white water rafting, snowmobiling or other outdoor activities.

To the west you'll find the rugged, picturesque Oregon Coast.  The coast offers lighthouses, viewpoints, bays and beaches that dot the unspoiled, 400-mile shoreline.  Visitors can experience the wonders of the ocean by exploring tide pools or joining whale watchers during the whales' twice-yearly migration or view the sea life up close at the Oregon Coast Aquarium.
