Objective: Maintain a professional, courteous and friendly attitude while providing quality customer service. Responsibilities: 1. Supervise and direct the efforts of the security officers assigned to the site to accomplish the job on a daily basis. Held accountable for handling problems that arise during the shift. Maintain open lines of communications with the Account Manager. 2. Ensure problems or changes in procedures are communicated to the Account Manager and ensure satisfaction of the client’s needs. 3. Assist in the proper and thorough training of all assigned security officers, through initial shift orientation, the use of the Site Training Checklist, and regular re-training and cross training. 4. Review all incident reports which occur on assigned shift and ensure all security reports are completed, accurate, and entered into the security computer system, and follow-up on action requirements from reports. 5. Ensure that site is staffed and shifts are covered with properly trained security staff. Communicate any problems to the Site Supervisor. 6. Schedule replacement security officer(s) for the site when a security officer(s) fails to report for a scheduled shift. Prior to incurring overtime, or if unable to contact replacement security officer(s), contact the Site Supervisor. 7. Review the Security Instructions, Daily Passdown Log, etc. on a routine basis for updates and changes that may be required. Submit proposed changes to the Site Supervisor for review. 8. Apply disciplinary procedures as established by AlliedBarton Security Services to all security officers at the site as required. It is important for the Shift Supervisor to be knowledgeable, fair, firm, tactful, decisive, and confident in handling breaches of AlliedBarton Security Services and site/client policy. Ensure that a thorough investigation id conducted and talk to all parties involved. The Employee Handbook defines disciplinary action and the steps to be taken. Prepare and submit a completed Discipline/Counseling statement to the Site Supervisor. If assistance is needed in handling a situation and/or written disciplinary action is recommended, contact the Site Supervisor. 9. Submit all call off and tardy forms to the Site Supervisor. Basic Qualifications: • Must be at least 18 years of age or older as required by applicable law or contractual requirements. • Must have a high school diploma or GED, or at least 10 years of verifiable employment history. • At least one verifiable employer. • No criminal convictions as specified under AlliedBarton guidelines. • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in the English language for the purpose of public interaction and report writing. • Authorized to work in the United States. • Ability to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. • Negative result on pre-employment drug screen. • Successful completion of AlliedBarton’s Security Officer Basic Course exam. • Ability to maintain satisfactory attendance and punctuality standard. • Neat and professional appearance. • Friendly and professional demeanor. • Ability to provide quality customer service. • Ability to handle typical and crisis situations efficiently and effectively at client site. 10. Perform other duties as assigned including but not limited to: 10.1 Pass on information to security officers on shift concerning events, training, changes in policy and security instructions affecting security staff. Follow- up on information gathering requirements from shift security officers and ensure completeness of forms or documents. 10.2 Monitor electronic security systems and operate all systems with proficiency. Report system problems as necessary to the appropriate authority. 10.3 Respond immediately to all incidents involving an emergency or disaster. 10.4 Cover any open shifts/assignments if replacement security officer is not available. 10.5 Work varied hours as required and directed by the Site Supervisor. 10.6 Daily review the Daily Journal entries 10.7 Daily drill and review Hot Sheets with at least one S/O 10.8 Manage Assignment Schedules – (3) three weeks out 10.9 Check each S/O assignment 2+ X/day We offer an attractive compensation package including competitive hourly wage, benefits, training and opportunities for advancement.
