Duties and Responsibilities

This individual will be responsible for providing application development, administration and support services specifically for LCRA's energy applications.  This will include supporting vendor software such as the Asset Optimization software from Power Costs Inc, Deal Capture and Tracking from Allegro Inc., Billing, Settlement and Interval Data Management from Oracle Lodestar, Inc., and other proprietary software tools.  Under general supervision, participate as a technical expert in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and implementation of software applications and modules.  Work with the Market System's Support Team, software consultants and business unit analysts to translate business needs into technical solutions.  Utilize the delivered vendor functionality, and customize the software where required.  Other duties include on-call support for the mission critical applications, applying patches, bundles, and upgrades to the Market Applications.  Candidate will be expected to assist with data administration, data quality assessment and delivered business flows.  Perform other duties as required.

 

Minimum Requirements

Education:  Bachelors degree in computer science or relevant field.

 

Experience: Three (3) to four (4) years experience in the following:  developing and programming/coding software applications with current industry accepted toolsets and languages.  Support of custom coded software and applications and support of off-the-shelf pre-packaged software solutions.

 

Substitution:  If you do not meet the requirements as listed above, then you must have at least seven (7) years of experience in developing and programming/coding software applications with current industry accepted toolsets and languages.  Support of custom coded software and applications and support of off-the-shelf pre-packaged software solutions.

 

Other Information

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong interpersonal and communications skills.  The candidate should have a drive to deliver quality solutions with an ongoing focus on process improvement and knowledge sharing.  The candidate should have the ability to develop detailed technical designs and show strong experience in Object Oriented Programming.  The candidate should be well versed in AJAX, JavaScript, Eclipse, WEB XML, Reporting, Web Services, Web Logic and SQL.

 

Salary Range

$4,670 - $7,020/Monthly
