Employment Status:  Full Time

 

Location:  Fort Stewart, GA

 

Responsibilities:To work on-site at the Hunter Army Airfield and Fort Stewart DPW, Env Div Environmental Compliance Branch offices providing planning, technical and field assistance for the overall SDWA, CWA, RCRA, Solid Waste and Recycling Inspection and Compliance programs in support of Fort Stewart/HAAF and the Env Div and Environmental Compliance Branch to facilitate successful implementation of environmental compliance and pollution prevention programs in compliance with state, federal, and local regulations and as required to sustain FS/HAAF resources in support of the Army’s overall mission. Conduct inspections at sites throughout Fort Stewart and HAAF to ensure compliance. Need to identify and analyze specific environmental requirements on ongoing projects throughout Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield (HAAF), able to maintain recycling market research and record keeping for the Fort Stewart/HAAF Recycling Program, and document recycling statistics. Responsible for promoting recycling practices and the installation-specific programs via update of the Installation Web sites, preparation of brochures, participation in briefings and Environmental Outreach forums.

 

Experience Requirements:

 

Familiar with the completion of annual Installation Status Report (ISR) documents. Possesses household recycling experience.  

Skills Requirements:  

 

Be able to work outdoors under various weather extremes and working conditions (i.e., hot, humid, cold, wet, windy, etc). Possess strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to receptively and respectfully interact with a variety of environmental management professionals and military trainers. Be physically capable of walking moderate distances over uneven terrain and up and down slopes and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.



Education Requirements:

 

High School and some training required.

A 40-Hour Hazardous Waste Operator and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) Training a plus. May be required to have this training within 6 months of start of the period of performance. Also be able to satisfy requirements for a Georgia Driver’s license and a federal government motor vehicle operator’s license, and must maintain valid vehicle insurance throughout the contract performance period. Be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a military security clearance, including a background investigation.
