Sr. RF Systems Engineer

The Defense and Maritime Solutions Business Unit currently has an opening for a Sr. RF Systems Engineer. Job Description: The candidate shall support development of implementation and design concepts relating to new Naval Systems (e.g. Tactical, Surface and Air search RADARs) as they apply to DDG and AEGIS platforms. Perform as C4I & Space Technical and Engineering liaison, representing PEO-C4I and SPAWAR to PEO Ships. Working closely with the Ship Design Manager, the candidate shall provide design and RF engineering support for RADAR systems, equipment, and antennas. Establish the spatial adequacy of RADAR compartments and define special installation arrangement requirements of those compartments. Depict the primary operational mode for each major operational function of all RADAR systems and their primary data flow path. Enable the determination of the optimum interface of sub-systems to achieve the desired capability. Analyze the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of equipment / systems resulting from design characteristics or physical arrangements / locations in order to eliminate or minimize Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) both above and below deck. Provide a plan to optimize the operational performance of topside Antennas considering their location and the effects of the ship’s structure. Develop and describe ship related RADAR requirements, including: the interfaces, information products and services exchanged between the RADARs and ship’s display and processing systems for mission planning and execution, support, and training. Specify communications, data links, and information systems associated with the RADAR systems as required. Develop and/or provide the DDG and AEGIS design requirements for ship susceptibility. Ensure that the ship design will fulfill the Radar Cross Section, Acoustic Radiated Waterborne Noise, Infrared (IR), and Magnetic signature goals as specified in the CDD. Required Education/Skills: Bachelor's degree in related field and 8+ years of related experience.  Experienced with shipboard design, e.g., DDG, AEGIS. Experienced with shipboard RADAR design experience. Experienced with ship acquisition processes and programmatics. Ability to obtain SECRET clearance. Desired Skills: Experience with DDG-1000 program and with TSC (Total Ships Computing).
