Staff Assistant/Research Assistant

Staff/Research Assistant for the Mental Illness Research Education and Clinical Center (MIRECC) located at the James J. Peters Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Bronx, N.Y. The MIRECC is a center for clinical initiates, research projects and patient/staff educational enterprises aimed at enhansing recovery and community reintegration for seriously mentally ill veterans. 

The Staff/Research Assistant will support the MIRECC Education Director and Health Services and Evaluation Director performing a variety of administrative  and clinical support activities:

Duties Include:

- Minutes taking for various committees

- Coordinating meetings, phone and tele-conferences

- Compiling and submission of reports

- Literature searches, data retrieval

- Research Grant application support: formating references & other documents

- Instutional Review Board (IRB) liaison

- Obtaining patient consent for study participation

- Power Point presentation support

- Website and newsletter editing and updating

Quaification required:

- minimum of a Bachelors degree in a behavioral science such as psychology or the social sciences (Masters a plus)

- proficiency at Word, Powerpoint, Excel and Outlook computer applications

- good communication skills and abililty to work collaboratively with other mental health professionals.

- Detail orientated with good time management skills

- Candidate MUST BE A US CITIZEN
