Systems Integration Specialist

Defense Group Inc. has a requirement for a Systems Integration Specialist (Financial Systems) Scientific and Engineering Technical Assistance (SETA) support contractor.

 

General Position Description

Perform preliminary analysis of existing accounting systems and processes, diagnose errors and problems, recommend corrective actions, and support implementation of remediation.

 

Tasks to be performed include, but are not limited to, the following:

 Analyze current Client financial systems to determine problems in process and/or systems. These financial management systems are deployed in several components of DHS and the contractor will determine “work-around” mechanisms for problems found, as well as, identify systemic integration opportunities.Analyze processes and interaction with existing systems, sources of errors, air gaps, opportunities for integration or automation, business processes, required features and functions, and other aspects of the current human/computer system comprising existing and new financial processing.Identify process automation opportunities for compensation of business process deficiencies and produce standard visual architecture artifacts to support such recommendations.Recommend and document upgrades, replacements or other actions to the CIO, architecture staff and other executives as required.Determine means to correct errors in ledgers and sources of error. As the primary or principal investigator of these errors, he/she will contact vendors, contractors, support personnel and others as required with minimal to no supervision.Produce reports and visual artifacts describing corrective actions, problems, with sufficient analysis to show the nature of problems found. Brief results and findings to senior audiences and peers alike. Support correction of errors and remediation of ledgers where required, including writing requirements or producing trouble tickets or testing for correctness as the primary authority on the errors and their resolution.Coordinate with government and contractor parties within Client organization, including personnel at all levels, in a professional and intelligible fashion both in writing and orally.Provide liaison and coordination with members of DHS Headquarters personnel, both Government and industry personnel, in the area of financial systems integration.Perform other duties as assigned to support the OCoS and the Client.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

 BS/BA degree in management information systems/systems engineering or related technical degree.8-10 years work experience with Information Technology Systems Integration.Experience or familiarity with relational database management systems, ability to analyze data structures and perform normalization, and experience in querying using SQL.Experience or familiarity with ETL (Extract Transform Load) processes and tools, especially those from ORACLE corporation.Experience or familiarity with Enterprise Application Integration systems, Enterprise Service Bus systems and integration tools.General experience with accounting software: general ledger, purchasing, budgeting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and Enterprise Resource Planning packages.Familiar with federal government accounting processes, methods and standardsAbility to maintain effective working relationships with contractors, Federal Employees and Executive Level personnel within and external to the Client.Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs to include Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint.Excellent communication, written and oral, and organizational skills.Ability to multi-task and respond to quick turn-around requests.

 

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)Experience with financial auditing in a government environment.Experience with DHS environment, organizational structures, and financial policies.Experience with ORACLE Financial accounting environment.Experience with the Prizm suite of applications.Degree in accounting, finance or business administration.
