Tactical Combat Engineer Trainer

EAI, an operation of SAIC has an opening for a Tactical Combat Engineer Trainer in Fort Riley Kansas. Job Description: Prepares and presents tactics, techniques and procedures (TTP’s) for Combat units for Counter Improvised Explosive Devises (I.E.D.’s) training. Prepares applicable draft and final documents, such as outlines and final products for training. Develops detailed plans for execution of classroom and hands on training for units deploying to Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) and Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). Must have and operational experience within the last year. Must develop institutional and sustainment training materials. Organizes and maintains audit trail. Manages and prepares technical copies for various related publications and documents. As applicable is responsible for instruction in classroom and field locations. The Subject Matter Expert will use applicable information to prepare for training units in Counter I.E.D., Unexploded ordinance recognition, and Urban Breaching techniques. Be a skilled interviewer that can obtain input for development of TTP’s. Skilled researcher and can rapidly discriminate and identify information that would be applicable for development of TTP’s. Plans and conducts reviews and assessments of reference material such as existing counter I.E.D., UXO, Breaching techniques (mechanical, ballistic, and explosives). Posses an understanding of the latest equipment upgrades for counter I.E.D. and site exploitations. Receives staffing comments from preparation of draft TTP; evaluates input; provides adjudication of comments and provides recommended disposition of all comments. Duty assignment will be at Ft. Riley, Kansas for the period time required to full fill the contract to the client. Education: Bachelor degree in related field plus 6 years of experience or 12 years of progressive experience in the Combat Engineer field will be accepted in lieu of degree. Required Skills: Successfully completed the Sapper Leaders Course, Counter I.E.D. course, Engineer Advanced Non Commissioned Officer Course or have equivalent training experiences. Ability to present information in a group setting, communicate effectively and understandably to others. Work requires preparation of tactics, techniques and procedures (TTP). Oversight of research, preparation of assessments, compilation and organization of curriculum for course development. Coordinate with training developers – institutional and sustainment – to help assure synchronization of TTP’s with training materials. Possess demonstrated ability to work independently. Operational experience in Operation Enduring Freedom and Iraq Freedom experience with a DOD unit is preferred. Desired Skills: Fifteen (preferably 20) years of experience in Combat Engineering related fields. Also, has been an instructor either as Drill Sergeant or Institutional level trainer in an Academy.
