Treasury Accountant
Treasury Accountant
The City of Somerville is seeking qualified applications for the position of Treasury Accountant. This position reports to the City’s Treasurer / Collector. Responsibilities include reconciling all the City’s cash accounts, reconciling all classifications of receivables for the city including real estate, personal property and motor vehicle excise taxes as well as other municipal revenues, preparation of reports both scheduled and on an as needed basis, and resolving various problems that arise in the course of reconciling the records between Treasury and Auditing.
Minimum qualifications include a college degree in accounting or related field and three years of full-time, or equivalent part-time professional experience with an emphasis on bank and receivable reconciliations. Local government experience a plus. Must have knowledge and experience with Excel, Word and QuickBooks.
