What’s available? Currently, hundreds of Applications Adjudicator positions are available nationwide, at the GS-5/7/9 grade levels. Starting salaries range from $26,264 to $39,795 depending on the grade level and location. Promotion potential and regular salary increases may also be available.
Where are the positions located? These positions will be located in the following cities: Dallas, TX; Lincoln, Nebraska; St. Albans, Vermont; Laguna Nigel, California; and Lees Summit, Missouri.
When will applications be accepted? We will be accepting applications starting Wednesday, March 19, 2008 through Wednesday, April 2, 2008. Therefore, if you are interested you must act fast!
What’s expected of a new recruit? New recruits will attend a 6-week BASIC training program in Dallas, Texas, a 1-week Practicum at the National Benefits Center in Lees Summit, Missouri, and a one week Practicum at either a District Office or Service Center. During the training and practicum, new recruits will be provided with the skills needed to adjudicate applications and petitions.
As a new recruit, your primary responsibilities may include:Planning and conducting independent research concerning the eligibility; Reviewing case documentation to determine legal sufficiency; Conducting preliminary fact-finding and initiating further action where information indicates fraud has been detected; and Reviewing and making determinations on cases (i.e. hearing and adjudicating appeals, and deciding on motions to reopen and reconsider cases).
What are the qualifications? Applicants can qualify for the GS-5/7/9 grade levels based on education, experience, or a combination of both education and experience. All academic majors are acceptable for this position. Detailed qualification requirements are outlined in the vacancy announcement.
