JOB TITLE:   Vice President for Public Policy

 

DEPARTMENT:     Government Affairs

 

PROGRAM SUMMARY:

HOPE Government Relations and Public Policy (HGRPP) is the central global governmental interface and unified public policy voice for HOPE around the World, and primarily in The United States of America.  And while HOPE believes that the key innovations for the future, and maybe even the key funding sources for the silver rights movement itself, will continue to originate from both civil society and the private sector, the government and will remain key, as it sets the parameters for play, and the rules of the game, so to speak, for all.

 

Accountability Review:

Ø Reports directly to Government Relations and Public Policy Director (Jena Roscoe)

 

Position Overview:

Ø Manage and direct Operation HOPE Public Policy Initiatives.

Ø Provide assistance on Global Financial Literacy Initiatives.

Ø Provide legislative support to Senior Management.

Ø Monitor, track, research, file, and maintain federal, state, and local financial literacy, economic 

development, and technology legislation.

Ø Maintain federal, state, and local government databases around our public policy initiatives.

Ø Ability to articulate the OHI Vision, Mission, Objectives and Programs.

 

Experience and Core Competencies:

Ø 2 years work/career - building experience in federal, state, and/or local government environment required.

Ø 2 years work/career - building experience in banking or financial institution environment required.

Ø 2 years work/career - building experience in minority, rural, and/or inner - city environment required. 

 

Other Job Specifications and Attributes:

Ø Ability to interact and provide effective relationship management with the various junior and/or senior field representative officials within a federal, congressional, and local elected offices primarily, and secondarily with financial, corporate, and community – based organization offices and their environment.

Ø Strong research and legislative workload; able to adapt in office environments, team player in meeting the vision, mission objectives of overall OHI environment in a professional manner.  Must have the skill set to effectively manage the expectations of a newly formulated initiative within the department.

Ø Ability to effectively monitor and manage financial literacy legislative issues and draft, manage, and/or track financial literacy public policy proposals.

Ø Willing to modify plans and behavior when necessary to meet a goal, assignments in a timely manner. 

 

Interests:

Ø Working within the field of U.S. Government Relations, Foreign Government Relations, as it pertains to Public Policy in the following categories: Economics and Finance; Economic Education; Financial Literacy; Financial Education.

 

 

COMPENSATION: $45,000 – 55,000 a year based on experience plus a competitive health care package and 401K matching program
