Account Executive - Self Funding

Position Summary

The Account Executive – Self Funding is responsible for driving the sales of our self-funded products and services.  The individual will work with our partner broker/agent network to identify and present to decision makers the advantages and benefits of Dean TPA.  Under the direction of the Manager of Large Group Sales the individual will establish plans to ensure goals are met.  Additionally, the individual will work with our established reinsurance partners to secure rates and coverage that best meets the groups/agents needs and situation.  The account executive will also look to develop new broker/agent/consultant relationships to expand our product reach.  Critical success factors include the ability to influence key decision makers towards desirable outcomes, the ability to overcome obstacles/objections, boundless energy, enthusiasm, a strong desire to succeed and a relentless work ethic.

 

Job Duties:

•In collaboration with the Manager of Sales, develop and implement annual sales plan.

•Work with underwriting to timely submit complete reinsurance quote material and monitor timely response.

•Negotiate with reinsurance carriers to finalize rates for possible placement of accounts.

•Educate our licensed agencies on advantages and key elements of our self funded products and services.

•Coordinate proposal activity with reinsurance carriers, Navitus Health Solutions and other third party vendors such as non-Dean network offerings.

•Secure all necessary information for quoting and reinsurance placement, PBM, administration services and other services needed for prospects.

•Assist in enrollment meetings and enrollment process.

•Coordinate the administrative and service procedures for sold groups for at least the first 90 days from the effective date.

•Secure market research on competitors; propose recommendation to management on our product offerings and policies and procedures.

•Develop and deliver presentations to groups, agencies and consultants.

•Respond to prospects and broker/agent partners for information and material.

•Work with Marketing to develop and produce necessary material in the prospecting, quoting and sales process.

•Log all required activity and interaction in DHP’s CRM application, Siebel, in the formats and manures outlined in our policies and procedures.

•Participate in DHP activities to identify and improve work processes and systems.

•Provide input and be a resource for divisional publications to agents, employer groups, membership and providers.

•Other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Manager of Large Group Sales.

 

Require Skills:

A Bachelor's Degree in a related field, two to five years self-funding experience.  Candidate must be or become licensed in the State of Wisconsin to sell life and health insurance.  Must be a self-starter who is aggressive, intelligent, well organized and has excellent interpersonal/relationship building skills.  This professional must be skilled in both verbal and written communication and be able to perform assigned duties with little or no supervision.  Valid drivers license and personal, reliable vehicle required for work related travel in order to fulfill job responsibilities.

 

Preferred Skills:

Advanced degree

Strong knowledge of marketplace issues, competitors, and broker community.
