Accounts Receivable (Billing) Specialist

Under the direction of the billing manager and with the assistance of the Lead Billing Specialists, the AR (Billing) Specialists perform multiple billing functions to ensure timely claims filing of laboratory/pathology services to nationwide third party payers, patients and client bills. Data entry of patient & insurance info, codes, units and charges.  On line Elig confirmations.  Research patient and/or insurance on multi-system applications.  Review and resolve claim rejections from both clearinghouse and payer reports.  Process secondary and tertiary claims.  Final QC of accounts to be billed out.  Submit claim adjustments as needed.  Work special projects on as needed basis.  Maintain production logs in Excel. Maintain patient confidentiality. Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, but prefer an Associate's Degree w/3-5 years medical billing/collections experience. - Strong attention to detail. - Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize heavy workload in a constantly changing environment. - Ability to meet daily and monthly end goals and deadlines. - Strong data entry skills (40+wpm). - Knowledge of medical terminology and medical billing practices. - High computer literacy, utilizing multiple information systems and applications at once. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Positive team player.
