JOB SUMMARY:Working under indirect supervision, responds to customer inquiries and performs various clerical administrative duties required for processing billing transactions to ensure timely and accurate collections of payments, daily reconciliation of cash and accurate reporting while maintaining orderly, well documented files and reports in accordance with Concentra policies practices and procedures.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Communicates with various customers including employers, insurance companies, TPAs and labs to answer questions and resolve issues.- Researches and adjusts billing discrepancies- Processes rebills and needed correspondences- Receives researches and responds to incoming questions or complaints; provides information, explains policy and procedures, and/or facilitates a resolution.- Updates and submits employer profile information as necessary.- Prepares and/or processes documents; reviews for accuracy and completeness; updates information and compares elements for consistency.- Prepares and processes billings and related documents; reviews invoices and checks for accuracy of figures and code authorizations, exceptions, etc.- Performs other duties as assigned.A/R Aging Report- Initiates collection calls to insurance companies, employers, to make payment arrangements.- Researches Employer Issues and facilitates a resolution.Documentation- Requests documentation from clinics to support charges and expedite resolution of discrepancies.- Addresses correspondence and customer requests.Rebills- Generates rebills for open balances.- Corrects insurance information and redirect bills to appropriate payor.- Updates employer changes and re-submits corrected bills. EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:High school diploma or equivalent/some college preferred.JOB RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:Minimum of one to three years collection experience (occupational health preferred). Medical billing courses may take the place of on-the-job experienceDEMONSTRATED JOB-RELATED SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:Medium skill with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word required.Demonstrated excellent communication and organizational skills.Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks.Demonstrated ability to write or draft correspondences, reports, documents and/or other written materials.Demonstrated excellent writing and documentation skills.Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervisionDemonstrated outstanding customer service skills.Demonstrated strong problem solving skills.Demonstrated ability to assist peers and train new colleagues.WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Office environmentSitting for extended periods of time.Heavy telephone work.
