We seek a talented professional with a demonstrated track record of excellence to join our team as the Administrative Director of the Heart Institute.The Administrative Director at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center´s Heart Institute, has overall responsibility for the management and operations of the clinical and research programs and services provided by the Heart Institute, including Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery. In this capacity, the Director is responsible for the development and implementation of business and division operations plans, accountable for quality of service, expense control and effective management of capital and human resources for all research and clinical services within the division. Essential Job Duties include: 1. Organizational Leadership: In collaboration with the Vice President, Service Line Operations and the Director of the Heart Institute, develops business and operations plans for the division and the programs within it. Through Division Directors, directs the overall operations of patient care programs, and research services in the Heart Institute, Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery. Collaborates with physicians, faculty, other Service Line Directors and research, clinical/support directors to ensure the effective coordination of services within and between divisions. 2. Management of Financial Resources: Ensures the Heart Institute, Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery function cost effectively while producing a quality service. This includes: • Planning, proposing and managing the capital and operating budgets. • Developing, implementing, and improving resource management. • Developing, implementing, evaluating, and improving productivity standards. • Exploring new revenue resources. • Exploring new grant and technology transfer opportunities. 3. Management of Human Resources: Provides leadership and effective supervision, coaching and personnel management to all employee members of the division. 4. Regulatory Compliance: Ensures compliance with state and federal laws, accreditation, professional and regulatory agency standards, including quality assurance and licensure requirements for the programs. 5. Patient/Customer/Client Relations: Structures and organizes work to maximize efficiency and effectiveness from customer relations perspective. 6. Clinical Practice: Oversees the delivery of patient care within Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery and ensures optimal levels and continuous improvement of clinical, research and service quality within the institute and all related cardiology heart care for all customers. 7. Performance Improvement: Develops and implements a plan for assessing, monitoring and improving performance in the Heart Institute, Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery. Implements actions to improve quality of care. Requirements: • Baccalaureate degree in medical, public health or business specialty required. Graduate degree, MHA/MBA/MS in hospital administration, health care administration or specialty field is strongly preferred. • Demonstrated excellence in effective leadership and management experience in clinical, patient care, research, hospital administration or specialty field. Demonstrated flexibility and initiative to effectively lead change efforts. • Knowledge and understanding of trends and forces shaping health care delivery systems. • Demonstrated fiscal management capabilities including budgetary control, effective expense reduction and new revenue generation. • Proven personnel management strength including the demonstrated ability to select, motivate, develop and retain people and promote collaborative team efforts. • Highly developed ability to work effectively with a variety of constituencies, and ability to lead and manage through influence. • Demonstrated superior interpersonal and communication skills, commensurate presentation skills in settings ranging from one on one to large groups. • Proven experience in leading quality and service improvement activities and achieving outcomes which respond to customer expectations. Demonstrated superior interpersonal and communication skills. • Demonstrated capabilities in cross-functional process assessment, problem solving and process improvement.
