Adult Critical Care Nurse Practitioner

Mercy Medical Center ahs an immediate opening for a full time Adult Acute Care/Critical Care Nurse Practitioner.

JOB POSITION: Adult Acute Care/ Critical Care Nurse Practitioner (NP)

  DEPARTMENT: Nursing Administration

 

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full time (80hrs/pay) 

 

WEEKENDS: Rotation with Intensivist

 

SCHEDULED HOURS: Variable 



QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Masters degree in nursing; Licensed in the state of Ohio as an R.N and Nurse Practitioner.  Current certificate of prescriptive authority required.  One year experience as an NP in critical care preferred and three years experience as an RN. Patient assessment skills, leadership skills required. Lifting/carrying of items up to no more than 35 lbs.  Positions, lifts, and/or transfers patients.  Other physical requirements and job duties as delineated in the position description.

 

 

  NATURE OF WORK:  The Nurse Practitioner, in collaboration with the medical team, and under the supervision of a physician, assumes responsibility for the care and safety of the patients.  Additionally, assumes responsibility for ensuring effective communication with the physician, charge nurse, the patient and other hospital departments.
