Your Opportunity:

 

Goodwill Columbus is currently seeking a Day Services Specialist in the MR/DD field.  As an active member of the Goodwill Columbus team you would be responsible for the following:

 

· Design and implementation of a personal, social and community curriculum focusing on supported retirement options in which functional skills are developed and maintained.

· Provide varied opportunities for valued, non-work related roles for older adults with MR/DD.

· Provide training, support and supervision as needed while facilitating agency based and community opportunities to persons served.

· Intervene therapeutically during crisis situations as needed, based on approved behavior support plans and/or using the Response Team.

· Ensure safety of environment and persons served at all times.

 

Qualifications:

· Bachelor Degree in Human Services + 1 year experience or equivalent considered. 

· Ohio Department of MR/DD Adult Services eligibility required.

· Ability to lift/assist with lifting persons weighing in excess of 100 lbs. required.

· Must be able to perform multiple tasks, to interact with people in a professional manner and to be flexible. 

· Eligibility for Medication Administration, CPR and First Aid, and ability to pass courses required.

· Group facilitation skills, knowledge of active treatment and familiarity with community resources, including senior, services preferred.

· Valid Ohio Driver License required and must be insurable on company policy at all times. Loss of insurability and/or license may result in loss of job. 

· Must submit to and pass criminal background check and drug test.
