Area Chief Technician The Area Chief Technician is responsible for the overall operation, condition, maintenance, and repair of all water treatment equipment, medical equipment, and mechanical/electrical systems so as to ensure safety of the patients as well as the staff operating equipment. This position is also responsible for reuse, inventory, and housekeeping. Participates in the recruitment, selection, evaluation, and supervision of approved technical staff for the facility. Trains new technical staff and ensures on-going training of technical staff. Upon request will provide training for DPC staff as outlined in the Nursing Services Technical Training Program and the Reuse Technician Training Program. This position has complete working knowledge of the mechanical area and operational knowledge of the technical mechanics of dialysis. Ensures adequate inventory levels according to procedures established by FMS Clinical/Technical Services. Has knowledge of the content of all service contracts for maintenance of the facility, HVAC, electrical systems, and medical equipment. Has knowledge and proficiency in the initiation and shut down of all equipment in the facility. Has a comprehensive know Associates degree in electronics or related field Possess a Valid Drivers License and/or ability to cover at other facilities and transport equipment and supplies as needed Possess a minimum of two years of Technical/Mechanical experience. The successful completion of the FMC Reuse and Equipment Technician Training Program. The successful completion of Technical Validation Program exam A within 18 months and parts B and C within 36 months from date of becoming the Chief Technician. Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills, including those required to problem solve in a medical, health-care environment.
