Associate Vice President, Real Estate and Architecture

The Assistant Vice President of Real Estate and Architecture has financial, contractual and administrative accountability for planning, design and construction of new buildings and renovations, alterations and major repairs to clinical areas of UPHS, as well as lease and property management responsibilities for the health systems regional real-estate. Ability to work autonomously, able to exercise a high level of authority and initiative regarding financial or schedule issues. Manages multiple concurrent tasks. Develops policies and procedure in line with System mission and accountabilities. Develop and maintain facilities strategic plan for UPHS and approval of the plan for the entities. Develop, implement and maintain a property management and lease administration program to support all non-acute owned and leased property within the health system. Utilize consulting services where appropriate to maximize values and service standards for the health system. Support the UPHS Branding program through participation in the development and maintenance of the branding process. Utilize the branding program to standardize design elements by establishing construction design standards for renovation and construction projects. Function as the health systems primary contact with the University for Facility Related Issues including master planning initiatives, coordination of clinical, research and administrative space utilization within health system facilities, and coordination of construction activities involving health system facilities on the University Campus. Requires a Bachelors Degree, MBA preferred, and a minimum of 15 years of Real-Estate and facilities planning experience; construction, design, engineering in the Health care sector. Experience in a growth and restructuring environment compliant with local, state, federal and JCAHO facilities codes and standards. Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
