Attending Research Veterinarian

Scientific Resources, an Offering of Doherty, has an exciting opportunity in the Eagan area for an Attending Veterinarian. 

Job Summary

The Attending Veterinarian will provide medical and surgical care, anesthesia, surgical support of research procedures, study director consultation, program development, IACUC protocol reviews, and training of research and animal care personnel.

 ResponsibilitiesHelp guide proper technique in animal restraint, blood collection, injection sites, anesthesia and surgery.Improve the standard of care for all animals.Help staff with injured or sick animals.Help perform routine and custom surgeries.Help develop custom protocols that require new techniques or drugs unfamiliar with. Provide input into interpretation and implementation of regulations (GLP, USDA, OLAW, Animal Welfare Act, AAALAC), policies, and guidelines affecting animal care.Oversee regulatory inspections.Maintain and perform QA on controlled substance logs. Help establish training procedures for staff.

Requirements Veterinary degree from an AVMA accredited institution and be licensed to practice veterinary medicine in Minnesota.Experience in laboratory animal research operationsB.S. in Animal Science or CVT preferred
