Job Description:

Provide integrated customer focused support to both clinic based and community office based physician practices in conjunction with PFS Administration, PFS billing/collection staff and IDX Systems Analysts.

Represents PFS Physician Division on the Revenue Cycle Teams to share potential improvements or makes recommendations that can improve the billing process or generate income. Communicates changes in third-party policies relative to their specialty. Coordinates the special handling of billing services rendered as a result of specific contracts.

Analyzes month-end reports, payments and third-party rejections. Makes recommendations to the Director of PFS Physician Division as to what activities/procedures need to be carried out in order for the accounts receivable goals to be met and to maximize income.

Review and evaluate weekly, insurance edit lists to determine if corrective action can be taken. . Proactively identifies problems or opportunities and makes recommendations to the Director of PFS Professional Division.

Works closely with PFS Administration, Billing/collection staff and IDX analysts or Information Systems in developmental initiatives. This would include participation in the implementation of IDX BAR and to include assisting with the testing.

 

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelors degree preferably in business or finance related field, plus 5 years related experience, or combination of education and relevant administrative experience to total 9 years. Experience in a multi-specialty group practice with emphasis on professional fee management.  Must have knowledge of physician billing practices and principles, third party payment procedure and regulation, and medical collection techniques and policies. Knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 coding principles. Knowledge of IDX or related professional practice management/billing software required. 


Reasoning ability:

Ability to read, analyzes and interpret financial reports. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Capacity to analyze and think creatively and weigh alternatives.

Perception of people and an awareness to deal with conflict successfully and attain resolution.
