Bronx Child/Adol. Mental Health Clinic -Social Worker-Bilingual Spanish

Visiting Nurse Service of NY - Community Mental Health Services has been awarded by the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) to start a Licensed Children and Adolescent Mental Health Clinic at our current FRIENDS site in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx. The Clinic at FRIENDS is being initiated by OMH to bridge a gap in the continuum of care for children and adolescents in the South Bronx community.

Provides therapeutic counseling for children, adolescents and family members enrolled in treatment at the FRIENDS Clinic. Perform intake assessments on new clients and families. Perform psychosocial evaluation and assessment of mental health service needs of identified patients and their families through professional knowledge, skills of observation and interviewing. Provide short and long-term counseling, care management and appropriate referrals for supplemental treatment as needed.









Master’s degree in Social Work. Licensed by the Education Dept. to practice Social Work in New York State.

Two years of experience as an MSW working with patients in a mental health setting.

At least one year of experience working with children/adolescents and families.
Bilingual Spanish Required.
