CARECONNECT CLINICAL SPECIALIST II - EMERGENCY

Location: US-CA-San Francisco Status: Full Time, Employee Job Category: IT/Software Development Reference Code: 56902 Job Description Catholic Healthcare West (CHW) is the eight largest hospital system in the United States with 42 hospitals and medical centers located in CA, AZ, and NV. The CHW CareConnect team implements information systems and tools for the CHW system of hospitals. The CareConnect Clinical Specialist will provide expertise in the design, implementation and evaluation of clinical information systems in the Emergency Services environment. This position is accountable for activities classified within the broad categories of design, development, implementation, testing and validation, training, conversion and transition to support for the deployment of CHW's CareConnect clinical systems. QUALIFICATIONS: Informaticist or RN with strong system implementation background. Must have strong knowledge of Emergency Services. Graduate degree in nursing, computer science, informatics, information systems, or a related field equivalency preferred. Minimum of one year previous experience with clinical information systems implementations preferred. Experience working with a large vendor implementation strongly recommended. Experience with Cerner and/or Meditech preferred. POSITION SCOPE: The successful candidate must thrive in a team environment; and will have significant interaction with hospital and enterprise information technology and implementation leaders engaged in planning, design development, testing, training, and conversion activities. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate outstanding customer service; have an understanding of project management skills; and a broad knowledge of healthcare technology and various applications within a clinical setting. The ideal candidate must have a strong clinical background in hospital patient care with an emphasis in emergency services to support context validation in design decisions. Additionally this role must engage clinicians in surgery, special procedures, outpatient departments, and other patient care environments to insure continuity in clinical processes and the care delivered and documented. Finally the transformation of critical workflow and the modeling of system functionality and usability to support workflow will be an important part of this position. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required . Knowledge of the healthcare information systems life cycle. . Knowledge of inpatient and outpatient care environments and workflow processes. . Computer literacy (use of computer technology to accomplish tasks) and information literacy (ability to recognize, locate, evaluate, and use information appropriately). . Excellent communication skills, ability to translate complex concepts to various levels of personnel from executives to end-users. . Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment . Ability to resolve conflict and negotiate compromise solutions where necessary. . Knowledge and skills in formal clinical systems implementation techniques and implementation best practices preferred. . Knowledge with CPOE implementations and best practices preferred. .
