CLINICAL NURSE SPECIALIST-NICU
$28.40 - $40.12 hourly $2,272.34 - $3,209.68 biweekly $4,923.41 - $6,954.31 monthly $59,080.94 - $83,451.68 annually The Riverside County Regional Medical Center located in Moreno Valley has a current opening for a Clinical Nurse Specialist. Successful candidates must possess two years of recent experience as a Clinical Nurse Specialist or Clinical Nurse Educator/Coordinator, a Masters of Science in Nursing from an accredited college or university, and maintain a current valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California and a certificate authorizing practice as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the State of California. Located in Southern California's Moreno Valley, our 520,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility is licensed for 424 beds and includes a Level II Trauma Center. The facility also offers a helipad (located adjacent to the Trauma Center) and Ancillary and support services that include a, full service lab, cardiac testing and diagnostics, occupational and physical therapy services, and specialty clinics on site, integrated with 10 primary outpatient community health centers located geographically throughout the county. Examples Of Duties: * Use advanced clinical skills to provide direct nursing care to patients and their families within the area of specialty. * Perform on-going evaluation of the nursing care of patients requiring continued follow-up; collaborate with other members of the health care team to develop an integrated plan of care. * Function as a clinical consultant using extensive clinical knowledge, background, and experience to identify and resolve complex or unique nursing care problems. * Identify the need for modification of standardized policies and procedures and initiate collaboration with supervisory team; implement needed changes. * Serve as a resource person in the clinical specialty to staff, management, community members, students within the health profession, and other hospitals; participate in community activities related to healthcare. * Collaborate with the Nurse Manager in maintaining the clinical development and proficiency of the nursing staff; assess educational/training needs of staff; develop, implement and conduct nursing education programs designed specifically to meet the identified areas. * Participate in the development of patient/family education programs. * Conduct or participate in research in specialty area; communicate research findings, new innovations and new technologies to staff; assist in maintaining patient statistics and administrative records. * Pursue continuing education to expand clinical knowledge and expertise. Typical Qualifications: Knowledge of: Techniques used to assess patient/family and staff education needs; current regulatory requirements pertinent to the area of clinical specialty; principles, practices, and techniques used in nursing care in the specialty area; community resources and referral systems; legal implications of advanced practice roles in nursing; principles of quality assurance and research; principles of supervision; administrative functions. Ability to: Provide care to patients with acute and chronic health problems; collaborate with the healthcare team; practice under standardized protocols; communicate effectively; establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, healthcare team members, and other professionals; assess the educational needs of the nursing staff; supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate nursing staff. Experience: Two years recent experience as a Clinical Nurse Specialist or Clinical Nurse Educator/Coordinator. Education: Masters of Science in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
