MUST HAVE RHIT or CCS Certification. Min. two(2) yrs. exp. with ICD-9-CM and CPT-4 coding in an acute care hospital. Education to include specialized technical health care subjects, I.e., Medical Science, Pathology, Anatomy and Physiology. Ability t Assigns icd-9-cm code number to diagnoses, complications and procedures. Assigns cpt4/hcpcs to procedures codes. Abstracts statistical data from inpatient medical record for entry into the SMS information system. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of the Organization. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support the Organization's strategic plan and the goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).
