The Brooklyn Hospital Center, a member of the NewYork-Presbyterian Healthcare System and affiliate of the Weill School of Medicine of Cornell University, is a prestigious teaching hospital dedicated to providing high-quality acute care in a state-of-the-art delivery environment. Reporting to the Administrator of Quality Management, we are seeking a qualified professional to be responsible for coordinating the quality management activities of the Clinical Service Committee and Hospital Departments.

The job description below addresses year one and will be enhanced as the program itself is enhanced over time. It is anticipated that some responsibilities will be moved into a maintenance mode, and as that occurs, other responsibilities will be assigned, reflecting the maturation of the original efforts.

Duties are as follows:Implement and coordinate a quality management program, developed and approved by the governing board, for TBHC and its respective off-site facilities. Ensure that all appropriate oversight committees meet on a regular basis and provide all necessary reports to the governing body. Facilitate the hospital department/CSC quality management activities by receiving and preparing all quarterly reports to the quality council. Ensure that all appropriate hospital departments/CSC meet on a regular basis and provide all necessary reports to the governing body. Provide reports summarizing the hospital department/CSC quality management activities to the appropriate governing body. Work closely with the hospital departments/CSC of the institution to facilitate activities, provide recommendations, and ensure accurate and comprehensive reports to the Quality Council. Conduct chart reviews to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.

A bachelor's degree and five (5) years progressive management experience in health care management with a particular focus on quality management required. Master's preferred, RN highly preferred. The successful candidate must possess knowledge of and experience with quality management methodology. Strong verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to evaluate data and prepare management & statistical reports are essential for this position. Applicant must be able to effectively communicate and interact with staff in a multi-disciplinary environment and be familiar with Excel, PowerPoint and health care research databases. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
