Cardiac Rehab Registered Nurse/Heart & Vascular Disease Management Educator

Job Description:
Provides care to patients in the Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation program, using the nursing process in accordance with standard nursing practice and established nursing and departmental policies and procedures, and National Standards and Best Practice guidelines for Cardiac Rehabilitation. Evaluates and provides education for patients and families thorugh use of the nursing process in accordance with standard nursing practice. Serves as the Heart/Vascular and patient care resource person for the hospital staff and the community. May provide guidance and direction to other health care personnel. Coordinates nursing care with physicians and other members of the health care team. Mon., Wed., Fri.

Qualifications:
-Must be a graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing with current licensure in Georgia. -Two years of hosptial experience as a registered nurse in a cardiovascular clinical area required or one year experience in a cardiac rehabilitation program. -Basic knowledge of exercise physiology, nutrition, risk factor and behavior modification strategies, counseling techniques and use of education programs and technologies as applied to cardiovascular rehabilitation services. - BSN requred, MSN preferred -Current BLS and ACLS certification required. (Can obtain ACLS certification in the first 60 days of employment.) -Basic computer skills required.
