College Hospital Costa Mesa has a full time opening for a Central Supply Manager.  College Hospital Costa Mesa is a 122 bed, acute psychiatric and med/surg hospital located in Orange County.

 

 

Job Specific Accountabilities:



· Demonstrates understanding of departmental operations and effectively oversees the daily operations of Central Supply to meet the needs of other departments.

· Demonstrates understanding and knowledge of storage and expiration of supplies and demonstrates responsibility in maintaining supplies and equipment.

· Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of aseptic technique that is employed in the preparation and sterilization of surgical and other sterile items.

· Demonstrates the understanding of sterilization monitoring, including daily biological, Bowie-Dick and testing, accurately documents load cards, monitors results and keeps sterilization records according to policy and procedure and JCAHO standards and demonstrates understanding of principles of ETO and steam sterilization and effectively provides for the safety of employees utilizing equipment.

· Demonstrates understanding and knowledge of decontamination, including surgical, auto disinfection, and equipment and supply processing.

· Participates in the Safety Committee and acts as a resource for disaster drill preparation for the hospital effectively.

· Assures the accuracy in patient charges for items used and knows importance of integrity in regards to patient accounts.

· Accurately prepares special reports and consistently demonstrates the ability to adapt the changes in the workload and uses staff efficiently.

· Continually informs the Director of the workload variance and demonstrates the ability to assist with tasks that have a direct bearing on surgery functions.

· Regularly participates in cost control activities by maintaining use of supplies, equipment and expenses and effectively acts as a major contributor to product/equipment evaluation committee and effectively evaluates product needs and purchases.

· Effectively performs additional duties, as assigned. 

 

 

Qualifications:

Registered or certified Central Supply Technician preferred.  Five years of Central Service or Operating Room experience required.  Knowledge of aspects of aseptic techniques and sterilization required.
