SUMMARY OF POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Working under the direction of a licensed therapist, this individual administers patient treatment plans, assesses patient response, and modifies treatment as appropriate within established guidelines. Emphasis is on but not limited to mobility, motor, sensory, perceptual/cognitive, social, developmental and funcational skills.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

1. Requires creative thinking, effective planning, ability to recognize change, report, and record pertinent information.

2. Requires the ability to work in a fast paced environment and adapt to changes in schedule and patient needs.

3. Requires familiarity with division policies, procedures, equipment, materials and work routines at a level generally acquired during one to three months on-the-job orientation.

4. Requires interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with patients and an interdisciplinary health care team.

5. Requires current license in the state of Maine, and knowledge of therapy techniques at a level acquired through completion of entry level assistant program approved by a national organization.

6. Level 2 - 24 months of clinical experience at MMC for new hires with 8 months or less of clinical experience, 12 months of clinical experience at MMC for new hires with 9 months or more of clinical experience.
