Certified Diabetes Educator - Affiliated Programs

Joslin Diabetes Center is an internationally recognized diabetes treatment, research and education institution affiliated with Harvard Medical School and headquartered in Boston, MA. Joslin is a non-profit organization dedicated to finding a cure for diabetes and improving the lives of people with diabetes through its cutting edge basic and clinical research, patient care programs for children and adults, and through programs and publications that improve the care of diabetes worldwide.

The Certified Diabetes Educator is a member of an interdisciplinary team established to meet the educational, clinical and operational needs of domestic and international Joslin affiliated health care facilities.

Responsibilities:

· Responsible for overseeing the Affiliate quality programs. Contributes to the revision of existing materials for both professional and patient audiences as well as to the development of new materials.
· Active participant in Affiliate site development and maintenance in facilitating quality improvement, customer satisfaction and growth.

*Travel is required (20%), including overseas (Middle East)

 

Qualifications:

· Certified Diabetes Educator. Background can vary, i.e. RN, RD, ANP, PA, or Exercise Physiologist
· Three years of experience in direct diabetes inpatient and/or outpatient care
· CDE credential or eligibility for certification within one year.
· Ability to work independently and demonstrate competence in written and oral communication skills.
· Experience with database programs and spreadsheets.
· Quality Improvement implementation and data collection experience desired.
· Current license in specialty area.
