Job Details:
Licensure RequiredJob Summary: The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) follows the outlined plan of care designated by the Occupational Therapist. Provides treatment and instruction to patients according to acceptable principles and practices of Occupational Therapy. Collaborates as a member of the health care team for the provision of acceptable principles and practices of Occupational Therapy. Consistent with training and competency review, provides care to newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for administering occupational therapy treatment as supervised by the occupational therapist. The COTA assists with the restoration of patient functioning to prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability. Assists patient to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. The COTA participates in operational aspects of the department and maintains and participates in CQI activities.

Requirements: High School graduate or GED certificate. Satisfactory completion of Therapy Aide Orientation. Current BCLS certification. Recommended, minimum of one-year experience as Therapy Aide.

Skills: Basic computer knowledge.
